LABORATORY HAZARD DETERMINATION and RISK ASSESSMENT
4-Hour
AGENDA
Purpose: Control of chemical hazards in laboratories requires the recognition of hazards, the assessment of the risks associated with the hazards and the implementation of control measures to reduce the risks to an acceptable level. This implies that the laboratory has the staff capability to evaluate hazards, estimate risks and implement control measures. Once these task are accomplished, then the safety level must be maintained via inspections. This training program is designed to provide the knowledge and skill to perform these complex tasks effectively. Several specific methods of risk assessment will be reviewed. Participants will become more effective in implementing safety programs and help reduce the risk of injury or illness.
