SAFETY and HEALTH PROGRAM

The written Safety and Health Program must include at least the following elements:
A. An organizational structure;
B. A comprehensive work-plan;
C. A site-specific safety and health plan;
D. A safety and health training program;
E. A medical surveillance program;
F. An employer's standard operating procedures for safety and health; and
G. Any necessary interface between general program and site specific activities.
The regulation is very specific about the content of each element of
the Safety and Health Program. In addition, the program must address proper
excavation procedures and control of contractors and subcontractors. Finally,
the written program must be made available to everyone with access to the
site or regulatory authority over the site.
